Over the last decade, use of satellites to monitor greenhouse gas emissions has skyrocketed, as government and commercial satellites demonstrated the technology’s ability to detect methane and carbon dioxide—both at a macro and zoomed-in scale. Today, the sector has grown significantly, with new emissions sensors launching into orbit regularly. Now that this data is more widely available, the question becomes: how can it be used to spur mitigation? How can emissions monitoring organizations work with governments and industry to increase data uptake and drive impact? Join leaders from across the satellite emissions monitoring field for a discussion on how to effectively leverage the critical data from satellites and turn climate pledges into progress.
