Workforce Investments to Grow Emerging Climate-Friendly Industries

Canada is well-positioned to receive billions in investments from companies on the cutting edge of the climate transition. From coast to coast to coast, we’ve already seen potentially game-changing investments in emerging industries, such as zero-emission vehicles, mass timber, plant-based proteins. These investments can be transformative, but their benefits will only become a reality if the Canadian workforce is prepared to seize the opportunities they create. Generations of Canadian workers in these industries provide a strong foundation. The question is: how can industry, government, and training providers help workers learn the new skills needed to succeed as these industries transition? Grounded in research from LinkedIn and the Smart Prosperity Institute, this session will answer that question through a dynamic conversation that inspires and demystifies the cross-sector work to get it done.
